Below are rates that we are “typically” seeing right now for those applying without a co-signer. By “typically” I am referring to what you can actually expect to receive not the ultra low rates that all the student loan refinance companies advertise.

10 Year Fixed Rate Loan: 3.8%
15 Year Fixed Rate Loan: 4.1%
20 Year Fixed Rate Loan: 4.8%.

How The Best Student Loan Refinance Companies Are Chosen

We want Members of FitBUX to have a good experience. Therefore, we look at a number of factors when determining the best student loan refinance companies. Below is a brief list of the factors we take into account:
  1. Technology Platform: How easy is it for people to get a quote, complete an application, and get their loan funded?
  2. Rates Stability: We want to make sure what you interest rate you are quoted is the same rate at the end of the process. I.e. the lender doesn’t quote you something good then increase your rate at the end.
  3. Quality of Customer Service: This is key during the application process as well as after the loan is completed.
  4. Product Availability: We want to make sure we have a lender that can service you. Therefore, we don’t include anyone that is geographically limited.
  5. Ease of Interaction: To make the end to end process as smooth as possible for FitBUX Members, we try and communicate with the company directly. However, due to legal restrictions, there may be instances where a FitBUX Member has to join a 3-way call with us and the lender. Some companies are better than others when it comes to this.
  6. Rates Competitiveness: We want to make sure that our refinance partners offer the most competitive interest rates in the market. We also have a few partners that will compete against each other if the situation is right.
Please note that there are student loan refinance companies that we’ve partnered with that we decided to no longer work with. Some have really big names, others are small companies who are struggling with development. Either way, our Members have tended to have bad experiences with these companies or they don’t meet our requirements above. Therefore, if you don’t see a company on our list, chances are we know who they are and have decided not to work with them. You are more than welcome to ask your FitBUX Coach about these other companies.

FitBUX’s Unique Approach To Working With The Best Student Loan Refinance Companies

The primary thing we want all our Member’s to know…We work for you not the lender! Our approach is unique in two ways: First, we help you determine whether refinancing is right for you and whether you should be using our free student loan refinance service. Your FitBUX Coach will help you:
  1. Analyze your situation, crunch numbers for you, and help determine if refinancing is right for you,
  2. Find the best student loan refinance company for your situation,
  3. Help you choose the right loan product,
  4. Help you throughout the process should you need it, and
  5. Call your old lender with you should they not allocate the funds correctly or make other mistakes along the way.
Second, we have a truly unbiased approach. I have spent a lot of time in the finance world and have personally witnessed “financial professionals” simply push certain products that pay them the most.
My personal goal is to avoid that at FitBUX. All of our student loan refinance partners pay us when you refinance. However, your FitBUX Coach does not know which company pays us more relative to other companies. In addition, your FitBUX Coach is a salaried employee and does not get paid on commission. Therefore, they have zero to gain or lose based on if you refinance or not. We truly have your best interest in mind. Period.

2020.05.07 23:11 LWRNick Face Covering Initiative with Lutheran World Relief!

Hi Folks! My name is Nick and I am the Senior Associate for Humanitarian Assistance at Lutheran World Relief (also known as Corus.) At LWR, my department per standard donates many emergency kits (baby care, hygiene, fabric, etc) and Quilts & Blankets made by Lutheran congregations around the country, well into the thousands of shipments every year to every continent. These are typically procured and/or created with congregations meeting during the week.
This, with restrictions and medical advice in place, is no longer possible.
A new initiative in responding to the current Covid-19 Coronavirus crisis is however to have our creators hand-make face coverings. This keeps our congregations engaged, as well as our mission active.
We are currently about to reach out 75k home-made face coverings pledge goal. It is very likely that the 75k pledge goal will be doubled to 150k (maybe more?). My Warehouses have already reported receiving numerous packages of masks already after less than a month.
Part of the next 75k pledge is expanding the individuals involved in the process and I've been delegated in getting some of the exposure onto Reddit.
So, LCMS, this is my plea to you! Please consider getting involved, as well as those that you consider would be interested. They can find more information on the LWR website, and I will happily answer any questions.

-------------------------------------
Some common FAQs
When’s the deadline?
Please send your face masks as soon as possible so we can start shipping. We hope to have all 75,000 masks before October 1, 2020, though we plan to continue to accept masks after the deadline.
Where and when will the masks be distributed?
Cloth face masks will be distributed with upcoming international shipments of personal care kits already scheduled for summer and fall. Face masks will be distributed to individuals in vulnerable communities and are not intended to be a replacement for medical grade personal protective equipment.
What materials do I need to make a face mask?
Tightly woven cotton fabric, pins, and bias tape, elastic or cotton fabric for the ties. Please avoid fabric with religious or patriotic symbols, because we ship to many different countries.
Where can I find resources to make cotton face masks?
Here are a few recommendations:
Are you a Thrivent member? Members can apply for funds to engage in the activity of making face masks: https://www.thrivent.com/making-a-difference/living-generously/thrivent-action-teams/
I used a different pattern to make masks. Will you accept them?
Yes. Please use tightly woven cotton fabric or quilting cotton, enough material to cover the nose and mouth and either bias tape, elastic or cotton ties to secure. The ties and/or elastic should be permanently affixed to the mask. No loose hair ties, please.
Do I need to wash the face masks before shipping?
Please use new or clean material when making face masks. You may wash your tightly woven cotton material prior to assembly.
How do I get my masks to Lutheran World Relief?
Please bundle your masks in groups of 25, put your bundles in a box and write “MASKS” on the package. Then ship directly to one of our warehouses:
MarylandLutheran World Relief601 Main StreetPO Box 188New Windsor, MD 21776410-635-8795
MinnesotaLutheran World Relief398 East Richmond StreetSouth St. Paul, MN 55075651-457-9009
Will I be able to track where my homemade face masks traveled?
Unfortunately, the tracking system will not be available for homemade face masks.
I am concerned about going to the post office. What should I do?
We are closely following guidelines from the CDC, the World Health Organization and other local and national health organizations, and we ask that you please follow your state and local guidelines for social distancing. We do recommend that everyone take precautionary health measures, including minimizing trips, washing hands frequently, maintaining social distancing, staying home when sick and wearing a mask in public. If you feel vulnerable, consider scheduling a package pickup from your preferred carrier or having a friend mail your masks for you.
How is LWR responding to coronavirus around the world?
We’re working with our local partners and networks of faith-based health centers in over 30 African countries to rush equipment and supplies to health workers on the front lines, equip community and faith leaders to educate families about COVID-19 and more. Learn more here.

2019.11.20 20:58 badpauly Significant Insider Trading Activity (Last 7 Days)

This is a list of the top 20 companies that experienced the largest change in insider shares in the last seven (7) days. The SEC defines an insider as any officer, director or 10% shareholder. It is not illegal for these people to buy or sell their own shares. In fact, since most of them get paid in stock options, it is expected. However, it is illegal for them to trade on inside information that has not been made public. So for example if there are drug trial results that are bad and not public, insiders cannot dump shares. That said, many people have observed that insiders - in general - seem to have a good track record at timing their purchases. All trades that are marked as part of a 10b5 plan are excluded from this report.

2019.01.22 19:38 badpauly Significant Insider Trading Activity (Last 7 Days)

2017.08.29 02:02 HeyWiseguy Setting up a 403b

28 years old, recently hired as a SpEd teacher at a middles school in Illinois. I pay into the state pension (while it still exists), but do not currently have any other retirement account started, which I am looking to remedy. The district has 12 vendors to with whom I can start a 403b and does not match any contribution I make. From reading this subreddit, I understand that there's a lot more to 403bs than just the vendor, but I figured it's a good first step before delving in further to look at fees and funds. The vendors the district partners with are:
Anything respectable to start one with or total shitshow?
Thanks!

2016.10.23 06:50 Imsosadsoveryverysad 403b follow up

This is a list of all the approved 403b vendors for my school district. I currently have AXA. With them I pay a $30 yearly fee plus a 1.2% maintenance fee. This doesn't include expense ratios. What vendor on the list is my best option? Im obviously looking for lower fees, if possible, and a good chance to make a lot of money. I'm willing to pay my 6% surrender fee to leave AXA if I'll improve my long term benefit. Since I'm young I'm on an aggressive allocation with AXA. I'd be interested in what you guys think is the best allocation for me as well. I'm 29 and have had my AXA account for 2 years. I've heard good things about Vanguard and Oppenheimer, and I'm also a USAA member so I can save with them as well. What are some questions I should ask these companies as well when I contact them?
